About the Club
Who we are
Our purpose is to foster a love and understanding of the Model T Ford in all of it’s configurations.
We encourage members to get out and drive their cars on their own terms, or join a scheduled driving tours.
The South Carolina Model T Ford Club is affiliated with the Model T Ford Club of America and the Model T Ford Club International and is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Model T Ford automobile. The club supports membership in the MTFCA and MTFCI.

The SCMTFC's newsletter “Spark Coil” was recognized by MTFCA as 2002 Best Newsletter!
A brief history of the
South Carolina
Model T Ford Club
November, 1997: Leonard Carroll of Lexington, SC sent letters to 28 MTFCA members about forming a club.
January 1998: First meeting in West Columbia 25 people and 4 cars. President: Leonard Carroll; VP: Mark Temple; Treasurer: Dick Chambers; Secretary: Ed Meloan
March 1998: First T drive and lunch at California Dreamin’. Club recognized by MTFCA in Vintage Ford. 16 paid members.
May/June 1998: Logo appears on Spark Coil.
June 2000: Club recognized by MTFCI. Charter members listed Ed Meloan, William Carson, William Jones, Terry Smith, Bill Williams, Joseph Summerour, and Kelley Blackburn.
January 2003: “Spark Coil” recognized by MTFCA as 2002 Best Newsletter. October First Model T’s to Olar. 24 members.
July 2008: Model T 100th Anniversary Richmond, IN. 7 member families attended the week-long event.
August 2015: 45 members
March 2020: COVID 19 Lockdown; all meeting and tours were canceled. Until further noticed.
January 2022: SCMTFC restarts with regular monthly meeting via Zoom.
